NCT ID NCT05432336
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 06, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study is testing new lab techniques to better diagnose serious eye infections, such as endophthalmitis and severe corneal abscesses. Researchers will compare standard culture methods with advanced genetic tests (metagenomics and multiplex PCR) on samples from 153 adult patients. The goal is to see if these newer methods can find the cause of infection more often and more quickly, which could lead to more targeted treatment.
