Shorter blood thinner course after stenting may cut bleeding risk in heart patients

NCT ID NCT07374718

First seen Jan 30, 2026 · Last updated May 10, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a shorter course of blood thinners after heart stenting can reduce bleeding without increasing heart attacks or strokes. It involves 468 adults with acute coronary syndrome who have both high risks of clotting and bleeding. Participants will either get a newer stent with only one month of dual antiplatelet therapy followed by a single drug, or a standard stent with 12 months of dual therapy. The goal is to find a safer balance between preventing clots and avoiding bleeding.
