NCT ID NCT07403474
First seen Feb 13, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study tests whether a rapid molecular test combined with a treatment algorithm can help doctors choose the best antibiotics sooner for critically ill patients who develop pneumonia while on a ventilator. About 124 adults in two French hospitals will be randomly assigned to either the new test-based approach or standard care. The goal is to see if this strategy leads to more patients receiving effective, targeted antibiotics within 24 hours, reducing unnecessary broad-spectrum antibiotic use.
