NCT ID NCT07403474

First seen Feb 13, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study tests whether a rapid respiratory test plus a treatment algorithm helps doctors choose the right antibiotics sooner for critically ill patients who develop pneumonia while on a ventilator. About 124 adults in two French hospitals will be randomly assigned to either the new strategy or standard care. The goal is to see if more patients get effective, targeted antibiotics within 24 hours, reducing unnecessary broad-spectrum drug use.
