New test could prevent wrong antibiotics for millions in surgery
NCT ID NCT07342647
Summary
This study aims to help doctors choose the best antibiotic for surgery patients who say they are allergic to penicillin. Many people are incorrectly labeled with this allergy, which can lead to less effective antibiotic use. Researchers are testing a simple five-question score to quickly identify who truly has the allergy, so patients get the safest and most appropriate antibiotic during their operation.
