NCT ID NCT07342647

First seen Jan 18, 2026 · Last updated May 11, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study looks at how to better choose antibiotics for people with reported beta-lactam allergies (like penicillin) during orthopedic surgeries like knee or hip replacements. Many people are labeled allergic but aren't truly allergic, leading to wrong antibiotic use. Researchers will use a simple scoring system called PEN FAST to guide safer, more accurate antibiotic choices.
