New test could Fine-Tune Life-Saving antibiotic doses for ICU patients
NCT ID NCT06709521
Summary
This study aims to find the best way to measure kidney function in critically ill patients with serious bacterial infections. Researchers will compare a new blood test (Cystatin C) to the standard method to see which one more accurately predicts how the body processes two common antibiotics. The goal is to use this information to create better dosing guidelines, ensuring patients get the most effective and safest amount of medicine.
