Heart surgery showdown: which aortic dissection repair saves more lives?
NCT ID NCT05912608
First seen May 21, 2026 ยท Last updated May 21, 2026
Summary
This study looks at two different surgical methods for repairing a life-threatening tear in the aorta (the main artery from the heart). It will compare a less invasive approach for high-risk patients with a more extensive surgery for lower-risk patients. The goal is to find which strategy leads to better survival and fewer complications like stroke or paralysis. About 900 adults with acute type A aortic dissection will take part.
