First seen Nov 24, 2025 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This pilot study will enroll 120 people who have a blood clot in the heart (left ventricular thrombus) and have already been on the blood thinner Apixaban for at least 3 months. Participants will be randomly assigned to either stop or continue their blood thinner, and researchers will track strokes, bleeding, and clot changes. The main goal is to see if a larger trial is possible and to gather early data on the best treatment length.
