First seen Apr 19, 2026 · Last updated May 10, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tested whether a device that delivers warm, moist oxygen through the nose (Optiflow) could replace the traditional face mask during the start of anesthesia. Sixty adults having surgery with general anesthesia took part. The goal was to see if this method could make the process easier for both patients and doctors by avoiding the need for a tight-fitting mask and manual ventilation.
