New DNA scanner could spot hidden cancer clues in blood disorders
NCT ID NCT05714592
First seen Jun 05, 2026 · Last updated Jun 09, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study compares a new, high-resolution DNA mapping technique (optical genome mapping) with standard methods to detect genetic changes in patients with certain blood cancers (polycythemia vera, essential thrombocythemia, or myelofibrosis). The goal is to see if the new method finds more abnormalities, which could improve diagnosis and risk prediction. About 300 adults who need a bone marrow test as part of their care will participate.
