Summary
This study will develop and test an AI-powered digital navigator for UK veterans with service-related physical health problems. The AI will suggest the best care pathway based on patient data, and researchers will compare its recommendations to those made by a team of doctors. Around 1,389 veterans will take part over two years to see if the tool can safely speed up referrals and improve patient satisfaction.

Active substance
AI-OpRESTORE healthcare navigator
What this could lead to
If successful, this AI tool could speed up referrals and reduce delays for veterans seeking care, freeing up clinician time and improving patient experience.
What could go wrong
This is an early-stage study testing whether the AI matches human decisions. The tool may not work as well in real-world settings, and results may not apply to all veterans.
