First seen Jan 21, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study looked at whether educating patients before shoulder replacement surgery about opioid painkillers, plus providing a safe way to dispose of unused pills, could cut down on leftover medication. About 140 adults having shoulder replacement took part. The goal was to see if these steps reduced the number of unused opioid pills and encouraged proper disposal.
