Researchers probe why chest surgery hurts so much
NCT ID NCT07329855
Summary
This study aims to understand how much strong pain medication (opioids) patients need after major chest surgery (thoracotomy) and what factors influence their pain and recovery. Researchers will observe 35 adult patients having this surgery to see if the amount of pain medication they receive is linked to their pain levels, any complications, and how long they stay in the hospital. The goal is to gather information to help improve future pain management plans for similar surgeries.
