Scientists probe how addiction meds affect unborn babies

NCT ID NCT03911466

Summary

This study aimed to understand how two different forms of buprenorphine, a medication for opioid addiction, work in pregnant women. Researchers compared a monthly injection to a daily dissolving tablet to see how drug levels in the mother's blood relate to the baby's health in the womb and after birth. The goal was to gather information to improve future treatment for mothers and infants.
