Pregnant moms in opioid study: does new monthly shot beat daily pill?

NCT ID NCT03911466

Summary

This study looked at two different forms of buprenorphine, a medication used to treat opioid addiction, in pregnant women. Researchers compared a monthly injection to a daily pill to see if one leads to better health for the mother and her baby. They measured drug levels in the mother's blood and the baby's heart rate to understand how the treatments work.
