New treatment aims to cut opioid use after common surgery

NCT ID NCT03695367

Summary

This study tested whether a new non-opioid pain treatment (HTX-011) could help patients use fewer opioid painkillers after hernia repair surgery. It involved 63 adults having a specific type of groin hernia operation. The main goal was to see how many patients could manage their pain after surgery without needing any opioid rescue medication.
