Your phone could save a life: app alerts citizens to nearby overdoses

NCT ID NCT06238128

Summary

This study tested a new system to prevent opioid overdose deaths by training everyday citizens to help. Researchers used a smartphone app to alert nearby volunteers when someone was overdosing, so they could quickly deliver the life-saving drug naloxone. The goal was to see if this community-based approach could get help to people faster, especially in areas where emergency services might be delayed.
