First seen Mar 25, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study looked at two types of general anesthesia for hip replacement surgery: one with opioids and one without. The goal was to see how each affects the heart's pumping ability (cardiac index). 120 adults having planned hip replacement took part. The results help doctors understand if opioid-free anesthesia is safer for the heart.
