New Opioid-Free pain relief tested for back surgery recovery

NCT ID NCT06725680

Summary

This study compared two types of nerve blocks (retrolaminar and erector spinae plane blocks) for managing pain after lumbar disc surgery without using opioid painkillers. Researchers enrolled 90 adults having elective back surgery to see which method better controlled pain and helped patients recover faster. The goal was to find safer pain management options that reduce opioid use and get patients home sooner.
