New study aims to help chronic pain patients taper off opioids with personalized care

Summary

This study tests a new way to help people with chronic non-cancer pain who have been taking opioids long-term. Instead of usual care, a team of doctors, pharmacists, physiotherapists, and psychologists will work with each patient to create a personalized plan to reduce opioid use and better manage pain. The goal is to lower pain interference in daily life and improve overall well-being. About 110 adults in primary care will take part.
