Can a coach be as good as a therapist? online social anxiety treatment put to the test
NCT ID NCT05292612
Summary
This study is testing whether an online therapy program for social anxiety disorder works just as well when guided by a trained coach instead of a clinical psychologist. It aims to make effective treatment more accessible and affordable. About 110 adults in Hong Kong with social anxiety will try either the therapist-guided version, the coach-guided version, or wait for treatment. The main goal is to see if the simpler, cheaper coaching approach is not worse than the standard therapist approach.
