Can a website replace your genetic counselor? new study tests online cancer risk screening

NCT ID NCT05427240

Summary

This study compares online genetic counseling to traditional in-person visits for people getting tested for inherited cancer risks. Researchers want to see if a self-guided website works as well as meeting with a genetic counselor for helping people understand their results and make decisions. The study includes 1,000 adults who qualify for cancer genetic testing but haven't had it before.
