Can eating all meals in 6 hours curb appetite? small study investigates

NCT ID NCT07500792

First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study looks at whether eating all meals within a 6-hour window (early time-restricted eating) changes appetite and hunger-related hormones compared to eating over 12 hours. Twelve healthy men without obesity will try both eating patterns on separate days. Researchers will measure hormone levels and how much they eat afterward to see if meal timing affects appetite.

What this could lead to

If successful, this could provide insights into how meal timing affects appetite and energy balance, potentially informing future dietary guidelines.

What could go wrong

This is a very small, early-stage study in healthy men only, so results may not apply to women or people with health conditions. The intervention lasts just one day, so long-term effects are unknown.
