Old drug, new hope: can a nausea pill stop a painful complication?

NCT ID NCT06861010

Summary

This study is testing if ondansetron, a drug often used for nausea, can prevent a painful complication called pancreatitis after a common medical procedure called ERCP. ERCP is used to diagnose and treat problems in the bile and pancreatic ducts. Researchers will give ondansetron to some patients before the procedure to see if it lowers their risk of developing this serious side effect.
