Can tongue exercises beat CPAP for sleep apnea?
NCT ID NCT07539870
First seen Apr 24, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study looks at whether orofacial myofunctional therapy (mouth and tongue exercises) and CPAP, alone or together, can reduce sleep apnea severity in adults with mild-to-moderate obstructive sleep apnea. About 168 participants will be randomly assigned to one of four groups: sham treatment, exercises, CPAP, or both exercises and CPAP. The main goal is to see if these treatments improve breathing during sleep and jaw movement after 12 weeks.
