First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study tested whether omeprazole, a common heartburn medication, could prevent nerve damage caused by oxaliplatin chemotherapy in 46 adults with colorectal or pancreatic cancer. Participants received omeprazole alongside their standard chemo regimen for 12 cycles. The goal was to see if fewer patients developed severe nerve pain or numbness, and to measure changes in certain blood markers related to nerve health.
