Summary

This study tests whether eating flaxseed (rich in omega-3) can help children with sickle cell disease have less pain and feel better overall. Twenty children ages 5 to 18 will eat flaxseed daily for several weeks. Researchers will track how easy it is to stick with the diet and whether pain and quality of life improve.
