Can a fish oil pill ease depression?
NCT ID NCT07439744
Summary
This study is testing whether taking a high dose of a specific fish oil (EPA) for 12 weeks can help reduce depression symptoms in overweight or obese adults who also have low levels of omega-3 in their blood. Researchers will compare the fish oil against a placebo (dummy pill) in 50 participants in Taiwan who are not currently taking antidepressant medication. The study will also look at how diet, genetics, and gut bacteria might be connected to the results.
