Mexican seeds take on high blood fats in new diet study

Summary

This study tests whether adding chia seeds and pumpkin seeds to a standard heart-healthy diet can lower triglyceride levels in people with hypertriglyceridemia (high blood fats). About 375 adults with moderately high triglycerides will follow one of two diets for 4 weeks. The goal is to find an affordable, acceptable food-based way to help manage this condition.
