Heart safety check for new cholesterol drug in healthy volunteers

NCT ID NCT06411860

Summary

This study aimed to see if a single dose of the experimental drug olpasiran (AMG 890) causes any changes to the electrical activity of the heart in healthy people. It involved 32 healthy adult volunteers who received the drug, a placebo, and a control medication in a specific order. The main goal was to measure the drug's effect on the QT interval, a part of the heart's electrical cycle, to ensure it does not pose a risk of dangerous heart rhythms.
