Kitchen spice & olive oil tested for rare genetic disorder
NCT ID NCT05363267
Summary
This early-stage study is testing whether daily supplements of curcumin (from turmeric) and special high-phenolic olive oil are safe and might help control skin tumors in adults with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1). The 23 participants take the supplements twice daily for up to a year while researchers monitor for side effects and any changes in tumor size or quality of life. The main goal is to establish safety before any larger studies can explore effectiveness.
