Could a psychiatric drug quiet ringing ears?

NCT ID NCT07190482

Summary

This small, early-stage study tested whether olanzapine, a medication typically used for other conditions, could reduce the distress and perceived loudness of chronic tinnitus. Fifty adults with stable, long-term tinnitus tried the drug and a placebo in a random order. The main goal was to see if the drug improved patients' scores on a standard tinnitus distress questionnaire.
