Eye exercises may ease screen strain linked to poor posture
NCT ID NCT06707766
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested two approaches—oculomotor (eye movement) exercises and muscle energy technique—to reduce visual fatigue in 44 adults with forward head posture. Participants did the exercises for 4 weeks, 3 days a week. The goal was to see which method better improves eye strain, neck position, and body awareness. Results could help develop simple, drug-free ways to manage posture-related eye discomfort.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Oculomotor exercises and muscle energy technique
What this could lead to
If successful, this could point toward simple, non-drug exercises to reduce eye strain and neck discomfort in people with poor posture.
What could go wrong
This is a small, completed trial with only 44 participants. Results may not apply to everyone, and the exercises may not work for all types of visual fatigue.
