Heart stent showdown: which imaging technique wins?

NCT ID NCT03394079

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study compares two types of imaging—OCT and IVUS—used during heart stent procedures to see which one leads to better outcomes. About 2,000 adults with blocked heart arteries will be randomly assigned to one method. The main goal is to check if OCT is as good as IVUS at preventing heart-related problems like death, heart attack, or the need for another procedure within one year.
