New imaging technique may let heart patients stop blood thinners sooner
NCT ID NCT07198529
First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study looks at whether using a high-tech camera called optical coherence tomography (OCT) during stent placement can help people with stable angina take blood thinners for a shorter time. Normally, patients take these drugs for 6 to 12 months to prevent clots, but that raises bleeding risk. By making sure the stent is perfectly placed, doctors hope to safely cut that time. About 130 adults with stable angina will be enrolled at one hospital in Korea.
