First seen Mar 24, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study tests whether a special imaging device (LC-OCT) can help surgeons see the edges of a common skin cancer (basal cell carcinoma) before and during surgery. About 290 adults will be randomly assigned to standard surgery or surgery guided by this camera. The goal is to see if the camera reduces the number of cuts needed to remove all cancer, while keeping the same cure rate.
