Scientists grow brain cells from OCD patients to crack treatment code

NCT ID NCT07488663

Summary

This study aims to understand why some people with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) respond to medications or brain stimulation treatments while others don't. Researchers will study 60 adults with OCD, grouping them by how well they respond to standard medications or two types of magnetic brain stimulation. Using blood samples to grow patients' own brain cells in the lab, scientists hope to find biological markers that can predict which treatment will work best for each person.
