New drug trial offers hope for adults stuck in cycle of kidney disease relapses

NCT ID NCT07233330

Summary

This trial is testing whether a drug called obinutuzumab can help adults with a specific type of kidney disease (idiopathic nephrotic syndrome) that keeps coming back and currently depends on another drug, rituximab. The study will enroll 10 adult participants to see if obinutuzumab is safe, effective, and can keep them relapse-free for longer. Researchers believe this newer drug may work better by more thoroughly depleting certain immune cells thought to drive the disease.
