Does weight slow healing? study probes Obesity's role in trauma recovery for seniors

NCT ID NCT04640701

Summary

This study aimed to understand if obesity makes recovery more difficult for older adults after a traumatic injury. Researchers looked back at the medical records of 100 patients aged 60 and older who were hospitalized for injuries. They compared hospital stays, complications, and treatment costs between patients with and without obesity to see if weight played a significant role.
