Scientists probe hidden chemical link in weight-loss surgery
NCT ID NCT07335549
Summary
This study aimed to understand how a specific body chemical, isthmin, changes after a common weight-loss surgery. Researchers measured isthmin levels in 40 adults with severe obesity before and after they underwent laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy. The goal was to gather knowledge about how this surgery might affect metabolism and appetite, not to test a new treatment.
