Summary
This research aims to understand how obesity leads to insulin resistance and related diseases like type 2 diabetes. It will study tiny particles released by fat tissue in 150 people with and without obesity who are already scheduled for surgery. The goal is to see if these particles differ between men and women and affect how the body uses insulin and how the brain's protective barrier functions.
