First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 24, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study looked at 112 people, including twins, to understand why weight regain is so common after weight loss. Researchers used brain scans to check for inflammation in a part of the brain that controls appetite and weight. The goal was to see if this brain inflammation changes with weight loss from diet or surgery, and if it predicts future weight regain.
