Can local superfoods stop childhood stunting?
NCT ID NCT04874688
Summary
This study tested whether adding specific nutrient-rich, locally available foods to a standard infant feeding plan could help babies get enough energy and nutrients to grow properly. It involved 192 infants in rural Zimbabwe, comparing a basic nutrition plan to an enhanced one with extra foods like orange maize, beans, and egg powder. The main goal was to see if more babies on the enhanced plan met their daily energy needs by 9 months old.
