Dialysis diet dilemma: could extra protein keep patients healthier?

NCT ID NCT07237997

First seen Nov 20, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study looks at whether eating more protein can help people on dialysis avoid unplanned hospital visits. Dialysis removes important nutrients like protein from the blood, and current guidelines are based on old research. The study will follow 114 adults on different types of dialysis to see if a higher protein diet improves their health and reduces hospital stays.
