Special drink aims to boost healing after colon cancer surgery

NCT ID NCT06134440

Summary

This study tested whether a special nutrition drink given before and after surgery could help patients recover better from colon cancer operations. It focused on patients who were not malnourished before surgery, as the benefit for them is less clear. The drink contained immune-boosting nutrients, and researchers measured complications, hospital stay, and inflammation levels. The trial was terminated early and enrolled 71 participants.
