NCT ID NCT06923813

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study looks at how well patients who have recently left the ICU absorb nutrients from tube feeding. By measuring the energy in patients' stool and their resting metabolism, researchers hope to understand if current feeding practices meet patients' needs. The goal is to improve recovery and reduce food waste in hospitals. About 20 adults who were in the ICU for at least a week and rely fully on tube feeding will take part.
