New nursing team aims to tame harsh cancer treatment side effects
NCT ID NCT07489339
Summary
This study tested whether a special nursing program could help people with advanced small cell lung cancer better handle their treatment. 200 patients receiving standard chemo-immunotherapy were split into two groups: one received care from a dedicated team of nurses, doctors, and other specialists, while the other received usual care. The goal was to see if the team-based approach could reduce severe side effects, help patients stick to their treatment plan, and improve their overall quality of life.
