Can a nurse do a Doctor's job? heart procedure study aims to find out

NCT ID NCT07176884

Summary

This study aims to see if specially trained nurses can safely perform the initial step of inserting a catheter into the wrist artery for a common heart imaging test, under a doctor's supervision. It compares the success and safety of this step when done by a nurse versus a cardiologist in over 1,600 patients. The goal is to gather evidence on whether expanding nurses' roles in this specific task is safe and effective.
