Summary

This study tests a program where nurses talk to parents of hospitalized children about safely storing firearms and offer free gun locks. The goal is to see if this conversation helps parents lock up their guns and reduces the risk of firearm injuries or suicides. About 7,200 parents and nurses will take part across multiple hospital units.
